Marching Orders

I thought the suspense was going to kill me. When Josh left this morning, I made him promise to call me and let me know where we would be heading for the season.

McKenzie soon woke up. We did breakfast and started to neaten up the house. The phone was glued to my hand. While making the bed I saw something that made my stomach churn. Josh's phone was sitting on the night stand.

"Oh Lord," I prayed. "I know you are just asking me to trust you and wait, but I feel REALLY frustrated with my husband! Of all days to forget his phone, it had to be this one."

There was nothing I could do but show up at the game at one o'clock. I figured that if there was some drastic change, he would find a way to call me. So McKenzie and I pressed on with our day and got dressed for our walk.

Just as we were walking down the drive way an out of state number buzzed my phone.

"Hello."

"Hey, Babe."

"Hey."

"You forgot your phone."

"Yeah. Hey, I'm in charge of video-taping the game today, so I will be there the whole time."

"O.k. So...you're still on the AA roster."

"Seems like it."

"That's awesome, Babe. Good job!"

"Thanks. Gotta go. Find us a place to live."

"O.k. I'll do that."

I got off the phone and McKenzie and I did a little celebration jig in the front yard. All I could say as McKenzie clapped her chubby hands was, "Thank you, Jesus! Thank you!"

We are now packing and making calls about host families in Harrisburg. We will probably leave Florida tomorrow, drive until dark, then finish the trip on Monday. Josh has to report Tuesday afternoon. The Senators' opening day is Thursday.

Thank you all so much for your prayers! They have been such a blessing. The LORD truly hears the prayers of His people. Please continue to pray for us as we head to Harrisburg and Josh begins the season.

May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, "God is great!" ~Psalm 70:4
