Harrisburg, PA

"Nice weather" is, I have discovered, a completely relative term. Compared to the rainy, 36 degree weather we had on opening night, today's partly cloudy 54 degrees is truly delightful. I just checked the forecast and it should only get down into the low 50s tonight at the game. It will be positively cozy.

Josh's first game of the season was Thursday evening. The first pitch was at 6:30 pm. The rain started in the fourth inning and didn't stop until the next day. At 10 pm, the Senators and the Akron Aeros were tied up 5-5 in the top of the 10th, at which point the umpires and the GM mercifully decided to suspend the game. The two teams were scheduled to resume the game last night, but the field was duck soup. The game was suspended again and everyone got the night off.

Today is a different story. The sun is playing peek-a-boo with the lingering clouds, drying out the field. Thursday's game will resume at 5:05 tonight in the top of the 10th. The second game will start around 6 pm. It should be a nice evening. There is a good chance Josh might pitch. He actually warmed up Thursday night, but the situation changed and they decided to put in another pitcher. So he should be up tonight.

McKenzie and I will probably head to the game a little late as it is very hard to keep her happy for 9 innings, not to mention 9 plus. Thankfully, we only live about 20 minutes from the field, so it is an easy drive. A mere 12 miles from City Island, where the ballpark is located, our new home is an incredible blessing and we are praising God for it.

One of the pastors from our home church in Arizona used to live here in Pennsylvania, where he and his wife still own a home. Their daughter Cali and her husband Quinn, a young, recently married couple, live in the house. Thanks to the hospitality of both our pastor and his wife, and Cali and Quinn, we have lovely accommodations.

The two story townhouse is a spacious 2700 square feet. Our bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor, along with an open loft area that is comfortably equipped with couches and a big screen TV, which is perfect for watching Baseball Tonight after we get home from the game. McKenzie is enjoying the challenge of stairs and is learning how to slide down on her tummy. We are so thankful for this wonderful home! As ever, God is faithful to provide for his kids. How awesome it is to be one!
